About.
The Arizona Diamondbacks are a comparatively new baseball team.
They came into the MLB in 1998 and have had a lot of success in a
short period of time. The Diamondbacks' best year was in 2001 when they beat
the Yankees wining what is widely recognised as the most thrilling World
Series ever.
Stadium. The Arizona Diamondbacks play
their baseball out of 'the BOB', or Bank One Ballpark in downtown Phoenix. The
stadium opened for business in 98. It has a retractable
roof wich allows the 48,500 fans to enjoy the nice spring wather,
but also protects them from the desert heat in the middle of the summer. If things get too hot , the stadiums air conditioning
system kicks in. The most unusual
feature at Bank One Ballpark, or in fact any stadium in the US, or the
world for that matter is the swimming pool which can be seen behind the
right field fence. |
