About. The Montreal Expos 'were' based in
Quebec - Canada's French speaking province. Their name comes from the Expo 67 World's Fair held in Montreal just two years before the team was
made. The Expos
were the first major league team to come from outside the United States.
Extraordinarily, the Expos played only 'some' of their home games at the
46,000 seater Olympic Stadium. To help the club's finances, the Expos
played 22 of their games in Puerto Rico during the 2004 season.
Expos exported.
In 2005, the club franchise moved out of Montreal and headed to Washington,
the US Capital. The club was renamed the Washington Nationals and got a new strip.
Expos baseball caps could become quite collectable. |
