About. The Kansas City Royals became
an MLB expansion side in '69 after the Athletics left Kansas in favour of
Oakland. The Royals' most successful year was was in 1985 when they won
the World Series.
Stadium. The Royals
play their baseball out of Kauffman Stadium which can seat 40,625. The most unique
feature of the baseball stadium is the water fountains beyond the outfield fence.
The fountains, stretch 322 feet wide, and have a 10 foot high waterfall. A 30-by-40 foot Sony JumboTron video board,
like the one in the SkyDome, arrived in 1990. Fans still enjoy views of the fountains
and the Midwest landscape. |
